Local Area Network Technician

REPORTS TO:
Local Area Network Administrator
Administer and provide first-level network support on the company LAN network system.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administers and provides first-level support on the Conway Corporation LAN network, including desktop and server support.
- Provides hardware and software support for all LAN network devices, including but not limited to servers, PCs, hubs, switches and routers.
- Investigates, resolves and reports network malfunctions.
- Ensures proper preventative maintenance is performed to minimize future outages.
- Sets up and maintains basic network operations, including assembly of network hardware, network backup routine and provides assistance to the LAN administrator.
- Installs and tests necessary software and hardware.
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, AND PEOPLE SKILLS:
- Desired: Bachelor’s Degree, with preference given to Computer Science, MIS, or related fields
- One to two years of job-related work experience
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills with emphasis toward customer service and teamwork
TECHNICIAL SKILLS:
- Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP (including DNS, DHCP, troubleshooting, switching, and routing)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Products and associated programs
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory
- Generalized PC and server troubleshooting experience
- Microsoft Certifications desired
OTHER:
- Must have a valid Arkansas Drivers License and a good driving record
- Ability to work effectively during periods of time constraints
- Ability to work non-standard hours when required
- Must live within the residency area established by company policy
