The 2000s
Here are highlights of some of the issues and projects undertaken by the Conway Corporation from 2000 – present.
2000
SEPTEMBER: Conway Corporation began airing Wampus Cat Sports (football and basketball) on its local origination channel.
2002
OCTOBER: Digital cable offered to customers.
2003
DECEMBER: High-Definition cable offered to customers.
2006
JUNE: Conway Corporation celebrated the completion of an eight-million-gallon-per-day expansion to its water treatment plant, and dedicated the plant as the Roger Q Mills Water Treatment Plant. The 8 MGD expansion brought the system's treatment capacity to 24 MGD. This expansion was projected to Conway's needs through 2014.
AUGUST: Conway Corporation launched a 30-minute magazine-format show "Living Local" on its local orgination channel. The show features people and various aspects of the community. Hosts: David Keith and Heather Kendrick. A new show airs every two weeks.
DECEMBER: Conway Corporation completed a project at Brewer Lake allowing more water to be captured at the lake. The construction raised the service outlet weir elevation by 4 feet, bringing the normal pool elevation to 330 feet msl. Previously, if the lake had reached 326 feet msl, the excess water would begin flowing over the weir and down Cypress Creek.
2007
OCTOBER: Video On Demand offered to digital cable customers.
2009
Conway Corporation launched Voice of Internet Protocol (VOIP) telephone service.
