GENERAL INFORMATION

ESTABLISHING SERVICE (Electric, Water, Cable & Internet)

Accounts may be opened or changed between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday thru Friday (except holidays) by visiting Conway Corporation’s General Office located at 1307 Prairie Street in downtown Conway.

New customers are required to come in and complete an ‘Application for Service’. Existing customers may handle most transactions by telephone.

New Customer Application Requirements:

  1. $150.00 deposit for residential customers due at the time of application.
  2. Proof of identification. Two (2) forms of identification. Conway Corporation prefers a picture I.D. (Drivers License) and a Social Security Card. Conway Corporation customer is required to be at least 18 years of age.
  3. A lease/rental agreement from the property owner/management stating the physical address where services are to be connected. (Street address and apartment number) If for some reason the address/apartment changes after the information has been provided, it is the customer’s responsibility to contact Conway Corporation to avoid any disruption of services or additional charges.

Connecting Cable & Internet Services

Conway Corporation offers Cable Television and Internet services. These services are connected by appointment only and can be scheduled at the time application for utility services are made. Cable packages can be viewed here. Connection fees are billed on the first billing. (Certain requirements and other charges may apply.)

SECURITY DEPOSITS

If you have not already established a good credit history with us or your last utility provider, a deposit will be required before any service can be connected. The deposit amount is determined by your status as a residential or commercial customer.

The deposit will be held as security for payment of any service provided or billed by Conway Corporation. Deposits are refunded after final bill settlement for all accounts or upon completion of 12 consecutive months of good credit performance at which time the deposit is applied to the customer account.

Deposit requirements are never based on a customer’s income, geographic location or service, family relationship, race, color, creed, religion, sex, marital status, age, public assistance status, or any other arbitrary criteria.

An increase in the amount of a customer’s deposit may be required if: 1) the customer’s services are discontinued because of nonpayment, 2) two or more customer “insufficient funds” checks are returned, 3) there is customer misrepresentation, or 4) there is unauthorized or fraudulent use of Conway Corporation services or property.

MOVING/TRANSFERRING SERVICE

Customers moving out of the Conway Corporation service area should contact the Conway Corporation business office at least one week prior to disconnecting services.

If you move to another address in Conway, you will need to have the utilities at the new address put in your name, even if they are already turned on.

If you move out of Conway, you will want to protect yourself by having your current services taken out of your name. Remember, you are responsible for payment of all services provided in your name.

As long as a service is in your name, you are responsible for any service provided at that address, even if you have already moved.

Appointments are not made for connecting or disconnecting utility services. Conway Corporation service trucks are routed geographically, so the customer will need to make arrangements for Conway Corporation to have access to the premises when requesting services.

READING YOUR METER

Each calendar month contains several billing days in order to distribute the meter reading and billing activity more evenly. Each customer is billed only once each month per account during these billing cycles. These dates will be approximately the same each month. The actual date your meter was read during any given month is shown on your monthly bill.

Meters come in different shapes and numbers of dials, but they all record the use of water and electricity in basically the same way. To read your meter:

  • Read the dials from left to right writing the numbers down in the same way.
  • If the pointer on a dial you are reading is between two numbers, use the smaller number.
  • If the pointer looks like it is directly on a number, look at the dial to the right. If that pointer has not passed zero, use the next smaller number on the dial you are reading. If the pointer on the dial to the right is on or past zero, use the number the pointer is on. The last dial will always be a zero.
  • If you have one of our digital meters, simply read the dials left to right. Round off the last dial to zero.
SANITATION DEPARTMENT

Conway Corporation provides billing services for the City of Conway sanitation department, but does not handle trash/recycling collection. The city of Conway Sanitation Department can be reached at 450-6155 or the recycling hotline at 450-6162. Their web site is: www.conwaysanitation.com

If you move to another address in Conway, you will need to have the utilities at the new address put in your name, even if they are already turned on.

If you move out of Conway Corporation service area, you will want to protect yourself by having your current services taken out of your name.  You will need to provide a forwarding address and the date services are to be disconnected.  Customers who were using Conway Corporation's cable/internet equipment should return this equipment to the business office at 1307 Prairie Street.  Charges for equipment not returned will appear on the final bill. Remember, you are responsible for payment of all services provided in your name.
