FAQ

Q. Why are all my channels off by one? Example: Channel 12 shows up as channel 13.
A.
This would indicate that your TV is not set to channel 3. Set your TV to channel 3.

Q. Why on my digital converter can I not get my music channels or why do my premium channels give the “one minute please” message?
A. These are most likely signal-related issues. Be sure you have the converter connected directly to the cable outlet (DO NOT USE A SPLITTER). If you have a splitter, VCR or other device connected to the cable outlet before the converter, remove the device and connect your cable directly to the converter. If this doesn’t solve your issue, call customer support at 450-6000.

Q.Why do I have “tiling” and bad reception on my upper channels?
A. This could be the same problem as above. If that circumstance doesn’t pertain to you, then try tightening your cable connections; it is possible for them to come loose. If that doesn’t solve the issue, your may be experiencing reception problems that could be related to the cable wiring in your home. If you can not resolve this issue, call customer support at 450-6000.

Q.Why can’t I hear anything?
A. Be sure your TV is not muted, and that your converter is not muted either. If you are feeding your audio through a stereo or other external device, be sure that devise is turned on and set to its proper settings. Be sure you have the volume between your TV and converter properly configured to your liking.

Q.I just got my converter hooked up, but I get the “one moment please” message on my menu. What does that mean?
A. It can take approximately 1-2 hours for your converter to download all the interactive guide information after it has been hooked up. If after a couple of hours you are still getting this message, call customer support at 450-6000.

Q.How do I record a movie when I have a converter?
A. Be sure you have your devices setup and configured correctly according to the diagram supplied to you by Conway Corporation Broadband (i.e. cable comes from your wall to your converter, from your converter to your VCR and from your VCR to your TV). Be sure your TV is set to channel 3 or 4 depending on how you have your VCR set up. (Usually the VCR is set up for channel 3). Be sure you have your VCR set to RECORD ON CHANNEL 3 or 4 depending on how you have your VCR set up. This is very important! Set your converter to the channel you wish to record. Follow these steps when you also wish to set your VCR to record while you are away.
