E-mail Instructions for Outlook 2000

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook 2000
  2. Select “Tools” from the Menu Bar at the top of the page
  3. Select “Accounts” from the menu
  4. Select the “Mail” tab within the new window
  5. Select “Add”
  6. Select “Mail” from the drop down menu
  7. Type in your name and Select “Next”
  8. Type in your e-mail address and Select “Next
  9. The top line of the window reads “My incoming mail server is a POP3 server.”
  10. Type "mail.conwaycorp.net” in the box under Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server:”
  11. Type “mail.conwaycorp.net” in the box under “Outgoing mail (POP3 or IMAP) server:”
  12. Select “Next
  13. Your account name should automatically appear, type your password and select “Next
  14. Select the second option that says “Connect using my local area network (LAN)”
  15. Select “Next
  16. Select “Finish
  17. Select “Properties” from the menu to the right
  18. In the blank at the bottom of the window labeled Reply address, type your e-mail address
  19. Select the Servers tab at the top of the window
  20. Select the bottom check box that reads “My server requires authentication”
  21. Select “Settings
  22. Select the first option, “Use same settings as my incoming mail server”
  23. OK
  24. Select the Advanced tab at the top of the window
  25. Select both check boxes at the top of the window that read, “This server requires a secure Connection (SSL)”
  26. 995should appear in the blank to the right of the words “Incoming Mail (POP3):”
    1. 995” into the box
  27. Highlight the blank to the right of the words “Outgoing mail (SMPT): and type in 465”
  28. Under "Server Timeouts" use the slide-bar to select "2 minutes"
  29. Apply
  30. Select “OK
  31. Select “Close
  32. To receive new mail messages select “Send/Receive” from the toolbar at the top of the window
