E-mail Instructions for Outlook 2000
- Open Microsoft Outlook 2000
- Select “Tools” from the Menu Bar at the top of the page
- Select “Accounts” from the menu
- Select the “Mail” tab within the new window
- Select “Add”
- Select “Mail” from the drop down menu
- Type in your name and Select “Next”
- Type in your e-mail address and Select “Next”
- The top line of the window reads “My incoming mail server is a POP3 server.”
- Type "mail.conwaycorp.net” in the box under “Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server:”
- Type “mail.conwaycorp.net” in the box under “Outgoing mail (POP3 or IMAP) server:”
- Select “Next”
- Your account name should automatically appear, type your password and select “Next”
- Select the second option that says “Connect using my local area network (LAN)”
- Select “Next”
- Select “Finish”
- Select “Properties” from the menu to the right
- In the blank at the bottom of the window labeled Reply address, type your e-mail address
- Select the Servers tab at the top of the window
- Select the bottom check box that reads “My server requires authentication”
- Select “Settings”
- Select the first option, “Use same settings as my incoming mail server”
- OK”
- Select the Advanced tab at the top of the window
- Select both check boxes at the top of the window that read, “This server requires a secure Connection (SSL)”
- 995”should appear in the blank to the right of the words “Incoming Mail (POP3):”
- 995” into the box
- Highlight the blank to the right of the words “Outgoing mail (SMPT): and type in 465”
- Under "Server Timeouts" use the slide-bar to select "2 minutes"
- Apply”
- Select “OK”
- Select “Close”
- To receive new mail messages select “Send/Receive” from the toolbar at the top of the window
