E-Mail Instructions for Windows Mail (Vista)
- Open Windows Mail
- Select “Tools” from the tool bar at the top of the window
- Select “Accounts…” from the drop down menu
- Select “Add” from the menu at the right of the window
- Select “E-mail Account”
- Select “Next”
- Type your name in the blank beside “Display name:”
- Select “Next”
- Type your e-mail address in the blank beside “E-mail address:”
- Select “Next”
- Be sure “POP3” is selected in the blank under “Incoming e-mail server type:”
- Type “mail.conwaycorp.net” in the blank under “Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server:”
- Type “mail.conwaycorp.net” in the blank under “Outgoing mail (SMTP) server:”
- Be sure to check the box next to "Outgoing server requires authentication"
- Select “Next”
- Be sure your user name appears in the blank beside “E-mail username:”
- Type your password in the blank beside “Password:”
- Select “Next”
- Check the box next to “Do not download my e-mail at this time”
- Select “Finish”
- Select “mail.conwaycorp.net (default)”
- Select “Properties” from the menu at the right of the window
- Select the “Advanced” tab at the top of the window
- Check both boxes beside “This server requires a secure connection (SSL)”
- In the blank to the right of “Outgoing mail (SMTP):” highlight the numbers and type “465”
- Be sure the blank to the right of “Incoming mail (POP3)” reads 995
- If not, highlight the numbers and type “995”
- Under "Server Timeouts" use the slide-bar to select "2 minutes"
- Select “Apply”
- Select “OK”
- Select “Close”
- Select “Inbox” from the menu at the left of the window
- Select “Send/Receive” from the menu at the top of the window to receive messages
