FILE TRANSFER PROTOCOL (FTP) INSTRUCTIONS
Creating a Web-Page
1. Log-on to your FTP Site
2. Go to your desk top (do not close the FTP window)
3. Right click on the desktop
4. Select “New”
5. Select “Text Document” from the drop down menu
6. Press “Enter”
7. Right click the new document
8. Select “Rename”
9. Delete “New Text Document.txt”
10. Type “index.html”
11. Select “Yes” when asked “Are you sure you want to change it?”
12. Left click “index.html”
13. Drag it into your FTP Site
14. Drop it into the FTP Site
15. Select “Internet Explorer” from the desktop
16. Highlight the address bar
17. Press “Delete”
18. Type “http://users.conwaycorp.net/your user name/index.html” in the address bar
a. your user name should be your actual user name (ex. jondoe)
19. If a blank page shows up you have successfully created your web-page
