Simpson celebrates 25 years of service
We’ve come a long way since we began operating Conway’s electric light plant in 1929, and we owe much of our success to our employees – the men and women who proudly serve this community 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
This month, Conway Corp would like to recognize five employees who are celebrating milestone anniversaries and have each been with the company 25 years or more.
Jim Simpson is celebrating 25 years with Conway Corp. Jim was hired January 3, 1991 in the Electric Department as a Groundman. He started the Apprentice Lineman program in April 1998 and became a Journeyman Lineman in April 2001 after completing the four-year program.
Jim is currently a Journeyman Lineman in the Electric Department and is responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing both overhead and underground electrical power distribution lines and accompanying apparatus to keep the lights on for the residents and businesses of Conway.
Jim also works at community events like Toad Suck Daze and regularly visits local schools to help educate children on electrical safety and energy conservation.
In addition, Dispatcher Keith LaPlante is celebrating 29 years of service; Engineering and Planning Manager Greg Dell is celebrating 31 years of service; Senior Lineman Lance Woodcock is celebrating 33 years of service and Wastewater Plant Superintendent Bill Fulmer is celebrating 37 years of service.
